Ahead of the holiday season, Adidas decorated its Forum sneakers with references from the classic Christmas movie Alone at home. Channeling Kevin McCallister’s onscreen kicks – who were, in fact, a pair of Three Stripes – the shoe displays shades of red and white similar to those seen in the 1990 film.
Official images of the themed sneaker surfaced this week despite the lack of a proper announcement from Adidas, indicating that a release is imminent. Already, people are shopping early for the holidays, not wanting to leave anything (or anyone) behind.
Full of details – Directly referencing Kevin’s own forums, Adidas’ upcoming sneakers feature a cream base with red accents hitting the outsole, eyelets, three stripes, collar, and ankle strap branding. A red house on the lateral side of the left shoe nods to the one seen in Alone at home, while various red stitching makes the sneakers look like they survived Kevin’s shenanigans throughout the film.
The burn marks near the front of the Forum refer to Kevin’s fiery defense plan against Harry and Marv – aka the Wet Bandits – who thankfully didn’t “burn the joint,” as McCallister puts it. The graphic soles provide a better insight into the thieves’ adventure, with photos of Harry and Marv caught in the shaving cream traps and Kevin’s televised ruse.
Different versions of insoles, as well as removable dubraes, help wearers customize their Alone at home kicking. An iron, a maintenance van, a fire extinguisher, a fan, a broken ornament, and a paint bucket can adorn the shoe laces, depending on Kevin’s plan the wearer decides to execute – or hopefully. the, simply threaded by the spirit.
