Check out StockX’s most traded sneakers in April

Securing your retail sneaker grails has become tougher than ever, but according to StockX’s Most Traded Sneakers in April, it’s not just the super-limited hype pairs that are in high demand.

I honestly can’t remember the last time I managed to get my hands on a pair of fashionable sneakers at retail. That’s not to say I haven’t tried – I’ve played my hand in more than enough raffles on what feels like the entire length of the internet, and not once have I managed to overcome the L.

StockX has been my saving grace on more than one occasion. Nike Air Jordan 1 “Mocha”, Dunk Low “UNC”, sacai Vaporwaffle “Sail/Gum?” Each of these pairs came to me via the secondary market for at least twice the retail price.

Unfortunately, that’s how the game is these days. According to StockX’s Most Traded Sneakers in April, it’s not just big-name collabs and popular AJ1 colorways that are driving the platform’s sales.

Unsurprisingly, the most traded sneaker of the month was the “Panda” Dunk Low, which ironically sits above the classic white Air Force 1 Low – the very shoe our editor Tora Northman said the “Panda “Dunks replace.

While the hype for these monochromatic Dunks is undeniable, it’s odd to see white Air Force 1s taking second place. As a general release shoe that is stocked seasonally throughout the year, it’s not the type of sneaker one would expect to trade so heavily.

Perhaps it’s worth considering that Air Force 1 prices have risen sharply over the past few years and experienced a prolonged drought throughout the peak of the pandemic, leading resellers to buy inventory and further inflate prices.

The YEEZYs also occupy multiple spots in the top 10, with three colorways of the Boost 350 V2 taking third, fourth, and sixth place.

Additional sneakers on the list include two pairs of Air Jordan 1 Mids – “Linen” and “Light Smoke” – the Air Jordan 4 “Red Thunder” and the YEEZY Wave Runner 700 “Solid Grey”.

If you still want to secure any of the featured pairs, you can buy your size now through StockX.
